Kids in Skanderaj, Kosova

THANKS TO YOU, 11 YEARS OF CONVOYING HAVE SUCCEEDED!
Now we need your on-going support.

2009 / 2010 — crisis in Gaza
Twice in 2009 we formed part of Viva Palestina convoys of over 200 ambulances & medical supply vehicles to Gaza, Palestine. Consulting on humanitarian & logistical aspects of the convoys, we led teams taking part on both ocassions. We are currently planning another, politically independent aid run. Any amount you can donate now will be used to buy extra vital supplies & equipment and transport them there.

Ukraine (Chernobyl)
In Ukraine there is tremendous poverty, and the legacy of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. We're supporting local initiatives like drugs-awareness projects, youth groups, orphanages, schools, and hospitals.

Our convoys have supplied educational equipment including computers, and supported the re-equipping of a residential school for children with mental health problems. You can help us to deliver more by making a donation!

Currently we are working most closely with Ukrainian youth group "Our Generation". Their projects include HIV-awareness theatre and a newspaper for young people. We're supporting other micro-charity projects as well; in fact we're keenly seeking bagpipes for a cultural exchange education project!

Kosova & Albania
In Kosova (Kosovo) and neighbouring Albania we work with local volunteers in hospitals, schools, and their surrounding communities.

We also work with some of the major international aid agencies; our small size helps us react to circumstances and "plug the gaps" in the process of getting aid directly to wherever it's needed most.

Our projects in Albania have recently expanded from our long-term aim to construct a bore-hole to provide safe, clean water to 4,000 people living in the Bathore shanty town — long-term supporters will be delighted to know that Bathore now has the basis of a water supply.

We are now also endeavouring to supply equipment for first stages of waste management (to avoid piles of burning plastic on street corners!) and are investigating early stages of community recycing and composting schemes. Rubbish and poor hygeine is the root cause of many of their major health issues. We're also hoping to develop facilities for children in the area, the population of which has soared from 20,000 to 90,000 in seven years.

Our latest news on this project is that in March 2010 we have met with and improved co-operation with the now-established municipal authorities. They have been most encouraging as it seems the Albanian state is at last in a position to support considerable, co-ordinated efforts to improve sanitation and water supply in the country.

Please read about our work, and see how you can help.

A selection of illustrated newsletters pre-dating this website (with details of projects as they began) are available:
